Can it replace your family?

“Your cell phone has already replaced your watch, camera, calendar, and alarm clock. Don’t let it replace your family”.

When I read this quote I thought that this is already happening in the world and it is going to be worse. Even young people are the whole day with their phones in their hands. Can you still stop this or this will happen anyway? My sons are 5 and 7! The youngest one says that he wants to have a pnone like us! Well that ain’t going to happen. But it is true that we are using our phones for almost everything. You have to be careful that your phone doesn’t become a replacement of everything. These days you can do almost eveything with your phone and it seems almost an addiction. In the old days a phone was only for calling someone. Now you have almost every possibility on your phone. The only positive thing about the phone is, is that you can call with FaceTime! You can see who you are talking to. So if you have family or friends on the other side of the world you can at least see them while your talking to them. Especially with this annoying virus. The kids can see the rest of the family and off course the grandparents. These are difficult times. So for me the phone is important yes. But i think we should pay more attention to the children. Put aside that phone and play with your kids. Make homework together. If you have the need to stay the whole day with your phone, please don’t get married and don’t have kids. Because people, family, kids and friends need you! Not your phone. When it is summer you see parents with their phones at the beach. They don’t watch their kids because there is a lifeguard. No!! These are your kids, so your responsibility. It happens every where, also with swimming-pools! And you cannot safe your child with a phone. Sometimes I want to make pictures of the kids when they are swimming but it is a dangerous distraction! The most annoying moment is , people who are driving the car with their phones in their hands. I really don’t get that! It makes me angry. Who do you think you are to bring other people in danger with your actions? I have two kids in my car! I think that is one of the most dangerous moments during driving your car. Is it so important to call during driving the car? Stop the car and take the call. Or use handsfree! Handsfree is also dangerous in my opinion because you are distracted any way. But there it comes, The phone at the table! Why do you need the phone at the table when you are in company? If you have nothing to talk about, then why eat together? I have already seen families who put the phones in a bucket away from the table. In some restaurants it is already forbidden to have your phone at the table. I don’t think we need to exaggerate but we need to pay more attention and try to search for simple and easy solutions. Because this phone is really almost a replacement of people. I think it can become worse because of all the technoligy. You can do so much more with phones that it can replace a lot of things. Sure you can make perfect photos but a real photographer will never leave his camera. You can play many games with the phone but the computer is more easy. There are also people who use the old-fashioned alarm clock. But in the end it is on us what we do with the phone. For sure it can replace a lot of things and in the future for sure much more but we are the problem! Not the phone! We need to wake up and start now with changing our behaviour. A phone is replaceable but family not.

“Hang out with people who make you forget to check your phone.”

“Home is where the heart is, but today, the phone is where the heart is!!”

I will leave you with these two quotes for today. I think these two quotes are saying enough. I think I will read these two quotes more often and it is really a wake up call. My kids and family are not replaceable! Just think about it and write to you soon!
